Nkari crises: Helen Ukpabio drags commission of enquiry to court BY JOSEPH OKON

The founder of Liberty Gospel Church, Evang. Helen Ukpabio has dragged the judiciary commission of enquiry set up by the Akwa Ibom State government to investigate the lingering crises in Nkari clan of Ini Local Government Area of the state to court alleging that the committee is illegal.

The case is billed to come up on the 1st of August for first hearing at high court 10.  The Liberty Gospel proprietor is praying the court to declare the commission of enquiry into Nkari crises and any other matter that could be of interest to the commission set up by the state governor Chief Godswill Akpabio as illegal, null and void and unconstitutional whatsoever.

THE INK gathered that Helen Ukpabio had approached the court after his lawyers pulled out of the Commission following the summons issued by the Commission on her lawyer, Barr. Victor Ukutt to appear in the witness box and be cross examined since Ukutt had stated to the commission that he had investigated the matter.

But the Commission has said that the court case instituted against it by Helen Ukpabio will not stop the Commission from doing its work to unravel the truth behind the consistent crises in the area. The commission noted that it will not deter in its assignment of delivering on the mandate that was given to them by the state Government.
