Following the recent riot act read by the Governor Godswill Akpabio that every Political appointee in His cabinet nurturing political ambition against the 2015 general elections should resign before the end of September, 2013, the Labour party has called on the state Chief Executive to resign in view of his Senate ambition come 2015.

The state chairman of the party comrade Etim Stern stated this recently, while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after his arrival from Abuja where he served as one of the members in the screening committee of the Labour Party governorship aspirants in the upcoming 16 November 2013 Governorship election in Anambra state, which also saw the emergence of Chief Ifeanyi Ubah as the party flag bearer.

He said Governor Akpabio should lead by example by honourably resigning before the September ending deadline. He explained further that it will amount to injustice and unfair treatment if Governor Akpabio should be given the senate position of of Ikot Ekpene senatorial district as the zoning principle has made it clear that it is the turn of Abak Federal Constituency which has never produced a senator, right from the creation of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, he wondered why Akpabio who claims to be a product and an apostle of joining could be working to spoil the longstanding zoning formular in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district.

The party boss further noted that at the appropriate time Labour Party will file her candidate that will wrestle power with the ruling party, reiterating that Governor Akpabio is protecting the interest of the PDP members as opposition parties has not been carried along by this government.

Mr. Stern equally joined well meaning Nigerians to congratulate Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State on his Victory by the Apex Court describing it as victory for democracy. He also hailed the courage of some PDP and ACN representatives, Senators and State House of Assembly members in Ogun State decamping to LP, describing it as a right step in the right direction while stressing the assurance by his party to take over government come 2015, he admonished his members to remain committed and resolute.
