Ita Enang attracts road project to Itu, Uruan LGAs BY EMMANUEL AKPAN


 


In order to add value to the people of his senatorial district, Senator Ita Solomon Enang representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial district in the National Assembly has attracted another live touching road project to his area and the contract is awarded by NDDC to a reputable Construction Company called Northcrest Integrated Nig Ltd based in Port Harcourt.

Addressing the people of Uruan and Itu Local Government Areas on the nature of the project recently at the primary school Ikot Ayan Itam, Senator Enang appreciated president Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Godswill Akpabio for their support to the project, he equally commended the NDDC while stating that this is one the projects that when completed will link the people of Enen Atai, Uyo Itam, Mbiakot, Ikot Anie, Ema, Ikot Offiong, Ekid Itam, Ikot Ayan and Oku Ayadehe to Mbiaya Uruan and others in Uruan LGA which about five villages also benefit from the said construction.


He said the 21km stretch road was awarded recently to Northcrest Integrated Nig Ltd and is billed to commenced work soon after the rainy season and appealed to the people to remain calm while assuring them that government will ensure the quick payment of compensation to them. He however warned those erecting new structures in order to also benefit from the compensation to desist forthwith as compensation will only be paid to those whose properties have already been valued by the valuers.

He equally charged the company to ensure their base is shifted to the area in order to be closer to the people as Itu and Uruan people have been noted for a peaceful disposition, also advising the company to capitalize on the rainy season to do a lot of concrete work to allow for the speedy completion of the project. The National Assemblyman also assured that the two former council Chairmen in Itu Hon. Ndon and Ededet Ekanem will liaise with appropriate authorities in producing Community Liaison Officers (CLO).

On his part the contractor Mr. Emmanuel Oduku Stressed his timely completion of the project while also commending the communities for their corporation assuring that every facet of the community will be carried along.
Hon. Godwin Ndong Chief John Uruk of Ikot Ayan Village, Hon. Samuel Umoh Councillor representing ward 7 in Itu LGA, a woman leader and youths all extolled Sen Enang on his choice of the affected community for the project, while assuring him of their continued corporation, however, prayed for God’s blessings upon him.
