Foundation hosts Unity Football tournament * Onofiok Luke to perform kick off

Ambassador Ukai Foundation, a socio- political organization based in Uyo, will hold a unity marathon on Saturday 18 January, 2014, this weekend. The President of the foundation and the Youth President of Itiam Etoi, Ukai Udeme Emmanuel, stated this in a chat with newsmen in Uyo.

According to Ukai Udeme Emmanuel, the unity Marathon will kick off from Methodist Primary School, Itiam Etoi and will have the commissioner for Youth and Sports Mr. Monday Uko as the key personality to kick-start the marathon. Others expected include Prince Ekerette Ekpenyong, the Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council, Mr. Enobong Uwah, the Commissioner for Environment AKS; youth groups socio political organizations, civil societies and the general public.


Ukai Emmanuel also disclosed that the unity Marathon is a preclude to mark  the kick off of  the Ambassador football tourney billed to start on Sunday the 19th of January, 2014 at the Methodist Primary School, Itiam Etoi, by 3.30 pm . “About ten teams have registered so far to participate in the tournament and many other teams are still indicating interest” he stated.

Expected to perform the kick-off of the Unity Football Tournament is Hon. Onofiok Luke, the member representing Nsit Ubium state constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, while members of the Akwa Ibom State Football Association and Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) are also expected to witness the event.  
  
According to the initiator of the football tournament and the President of the Ambassador Ukai Foundation, Ukai (Amb.) Udeme Emmanuel the winners of the tournament  will go home with N50,00 and a trophy, the second place winners will go home with N30,000 while the  third place winner will take home N20,000. But the teams are expected to register with only N3, 000 to qualify to take part in the tournament. 

As a preparation for the two upcoming events, Methodist Primary School, Itiam Etoi is beginning to wear a new look courtesy of the quintessential Youth Leader, Ukai (Amb) Udeme Emmanuel.
