Sen. Ita Enang hosts Uyo Fed. Constituency on New Year eve
The people of Uyo Federal Constituency were on Tuesday the 31st of December, 2013 treated to a New Year party by the Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District, Senator Ita Enang at D44 Ewet Housing Estate.

The event had hundreds of people from the four local government areas that make up the federal constituency which are Uyo, Ibesiko Asutan, Nsit Atai, and Uruan in attendance.

According to the Senator, he gathered the people to tell them “thank you” for their support in the out-gone year, to contribute to their celebration of the new year, and most importantly, to present his score-card for the year ending because “when a father sends his child to school, it is pertinent for the child to bring his result to the father to justify his father’s spending and to encourage the father to do more for the child”, he said.

Senator Enang used the occasion to enumerate his achievements in the Senate to include making the voice of Uyo Senatorial District heard, sponsoring bill that led to the legalization of the University of Uyo, sponsoring another bill that is going to bring a Federal Polytechnic to Uyo Federal Constituency when passed into law, and attracting other projects to the Senatorial District.

The high point of the occasion was when the Senator declared his support for Mr. Umana Okon Umana, the former SSG and also called on the people of Uyo senatorial District to support Mr. Umana Umana, stating that he (Mr. Umana) is the choice of the Senatorial District.

He presented 250 bags of rice, four cows, and N3illion to the Federal Constituency to use and celebrate the New Year, promising a better package in 2014. He pleaded for the support of the people for the present administration of Chief (Dr.) Godswill Akpabio to help him end his government well.

Responding on behalf of the people, the host of the venue for the gathering, Engr. Maurice Ebong, who is the political leader of Uyo, thanked the Senator for the gifts and also declared that Mr. Umana Okon Umana is the choice of the people of Uyo for 2015 governorship race.
