Akwa United will fail again - fans 
Soccer fans of Akwa United Football Club of Uyo have continued to lose interest in football as the team is getting worst in their performance every football season.

Some fans who were present at the Uyo Township stadium recently to watched the opening match of the 2013/2014 Glo Premier League, Akwa United against Gombe United. Although the match ended 1-0 in favour of Akwa United and it was on a penalty.

The angry fans are of the opinion that the management crew should be change completely for the betterment of football in the state and also for them to enjoy good football after paying for ticket to watch every home games of Akwa United FC.

Chatting with our reporter, one of the soccer fans, Ubong Ekpeyong expressed disappointment over the poor performance of the Uyo based side during the opening game. According to him “I am not happy at all with the Management of this team. Every season, they only sell but no replacement of quality players for them to be able compete well with other top teams in the league”.


Another fan, Kokoete Eyo who expressed concern that games of Akwa United FC are no more attractive due to lack of in-experience and quality players in the team. “Their home matches are no more attractive because of in-experience players that are in the team and their costly mistakes. With all the money the state government has put into this team. The club management headed by Isong Isang has refused to release the money to buy good players instead they go for cheap and low quality players from the relegated zone”. 

A female fan, Glory Enebong added “From the look of things, this team will fail again because the team is even worse than last season which they manage to finished 16th on the league table and escaped relegation from Professional Football League”.
