 Mkpat Enin students inaugurates new Exco
The Member representing Mkpat Enin in the state House of Assembly, Barr Ekong Sampson has urged students to always pick interest in the history of their origin. 

The lawmaker made the call last Friday during the inauguration of the new chapter executives of National Association of Mkpat Enin students (NAMES) University of Uyo Chapter led by comrade Victor Ufot.

Barr Sampson posited that the history of one’s origin is important as it will help to give one a strong identity and a sense of belonging. He also urged members of the new exco to work harmoniously in order to move the Association forward.

In his inaugural speech, the chapter President, comrade Victor Ufot on behalf of his executive pledged to abide by the oath of office.

Comrade Ufot urged all members of the Association to join hands with him to restore the dignity of the Association which is almost lost, he also promised to maintain peace and harmony within the Association, he stressed that NAMES  UNIUYO chapter must now rise and take her rightful place as the mother chapter of the world wide body.


On his part, the General Manager of Atlantic 104.5 fm Uyo, represented at the occassion by the head of administration of the establishment Mr. David Effiong encouraged the students to always focus on their studies as that was the main reason why are in the school. 

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director of Visual Impact Technologies Uyo, and a onetime Chairman Culture and Tourism Mkpat Enin L.G.A, Otuekong Hilary Oton pledged his continuous support to the Association Whenever he is being called upon. He enjoined the students to always study to show themselves approved as that was the only way they can give back to their parents. 

The world wide President of NAMES comrade Usenobong Ekponoy commended the lawmaker for his love and encouragements for the students of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area.

In an interview with journalists, the chapter President University of Uyo, Comrade Victor Ufot thanked the Onomkpoinam of Mkpat Enin for finding out time to honour the students and promised him of their support and loyalty. He also thanked all the guests for finding out time to honour his invitation despite the short notice.

High point of the occasion was the administration of the oath of office and oath of allegiance to all elected officer and presentation of certificates of returns.
