AKS 2015: Bassey Albert secures Royal blessings from Itai Afe Annang
As part of his continued consultations ahead of the 2015 gubernatorial election, former commissioner for finance, Obong Bassey Albert was at the palace of Itai Afe Annang IV, His Royal Majesty Okuku Pius Esideh III, in Essien Udim with his supporters and campaign team.

In his address, the ex-chairman of the state’s Inter-ministerial Direct Labour Coordinating Committee thanked the chieftain for supporting the administration of Chief Godswill Akpabio. He linked the success of the Akpabio led administration in the past seven years to the massive support of Royal fathers in the state.

Mr. Albert said his loyalty to Governor Akpabio dates back to 2003, before he became first citizen of the state in 2007. He maintained that his relationship with the Governor is very cordial and pleaded with the Royal fathers to ignore rumours making ranks that he is in logger heads with their son.
Obong Albert hinted that he was directed by God to contest for Governorship of the state in 2015 and pledged not to disappoint the people if elected into office. He noted that Human Capital Development will be one of the cardinal points of his Government, while soliciting for support from the Royal fathers in the forthcoming election.

Responding, Okuku Pius Esideh praised Obong Albert for his show of humility by seeking blessings from Royal fathers and pledged to support his course for the continued development of the state. He said Mr. Albert has the qualities needed to lead the state with view of sustaining the uncommon transformation brought to the people by the Governor Akpabio administration.

Okuku Esideh opined that the philanthropic gesture of the Ibiono Ibom son is unprecedented and prayed God to see him through to his destination. He charged Mr. Albert to be honest and create programs that will restore hope to hopeless people with strong focus on developing the masses’ stomach infrastructure.

Other Royal fathers present on the occasion also prayed and committed the gubernatorial ambition of Obong Albert to God.
