Mu’azu preaches peace in Uyo * Performs ground breaking ceremony of PDP state secretariat
-canvasses support for Jonathan, ruling Party

The National Chairman of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu has described the state Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio as a true party man who always agitate for action and is committed to bring transformations to the state.

The national chairman of the party stated this recently at the ground breaking of the state secretariat of the party in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

He called on the people of the state to continue in their prayers and support for the President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan at this time the country is experiencing trying moment of insecurity problem and many other problems in the country, adding that the continuous prayers of all Nigerians will strengthen and give additional wisdom, courage to the President to lead the country to where it supposed to be, and give strong leadership in the committee of nations.

Mu’azu described Governor Godswill Akpabio as an anxious person who is always ready to work and deliver results that the party is very proud of which has made Akwa Ibom state the reference point in the development drive of PDP governance in Nigeria.

According him, “all you need to do is to support the governor to work. If you do not know what good things are, please don’t try what bad things are. Don’t pray for substitute to what you have today. Abraham Lincoln said, for those of you who do not know how bad it is to be at the bottom of the mountain, you will not know how sweet it is to be on the top of the mountain. Therefore you must appreciate your governor, and you must pray for him to continue.

I want you to appreciate your party, the People’s Democratic Party, the vehicle that has been used to bring development in Akwa Ibom state, we appreciate your patronage, your supports and loyalty, but I want you to also know that it is only by so doing that we will continue to have development in AkwaIbom State, and I thank you immensely for your kind support for your party. I thank you for giving me the opportunity to be the chairman of this party at this time in the history of Nigeria.

I assure you that we will continue to change the game in favour of PDP. We will not complain but will allow those who want to complain. We will lead the way and those who want to follow will come out, and I will lead you till we take up our rightful position in the number of states that we started with 1999.

Speaking at the occasion, the state Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio attributed the successes in the state to what he described as uncommon support of Akwa Ibom people that have metamorphosed into uncommon transformation.

The governor commended the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria CAN for their supports and prayers for the present administration. “We are proud of the partnership between the PDP and the clergy in Akwa Ibom State; this is another secret of uncommon transformation”.

In his word, “I want to welcome the game changer; you can see even before the election the game has changed. Some months back we went round the country with our Leader, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and the reaction of the people was that they recognize the PDP as the only truly national party in Nigeria.

All other political parties in Nigeria have changed their names 9 times, for me I cannot even remember the political party I contested election with in 2007. Some of them were called NPC, some AC, not ACN, it was after I defeated them they changed it to ACN, but when I defeated them again in 2011, they added P, and change it to APC. And when we will defeat them in 2015, they will now add N to make it APCN.

Let members of the National Working Committee know that this is one state they are sure of victory come 2015. In Akwa Ibom State because of the performance of government, there is no other political party here. People only wait for elections and primaries of PDP to cause confusion.

Take our message to our Leader, President Jonathan, that we don’t only support him but we are praying for him. These are perilous times in Nigeria where people are thinking of not winning elections but causing confusion, taking up arms and arming one another. They pay machineries from outside Nigeria to make us not to sleep well, assure Mr. President that the Egyptians he sees today he shall see them no more because God is on the throne. We believe strongly that power comes from God; every authority that we hold come from God, and God gives it to whom he pleases. Those who betrayed the governor will not enter government house.

May God take away the Spirit of Absalom from our midst, the father trained and empowered him as a-would be king for Israel, but because of impatience, Absalom wanted to take over at the age of 30. He wanted to kill King David and the king leaved him to his faith. As a young man, he died while the father continued”

The governor congratulated the Chairman of the party for keeping the party together, and for stopping the tide of defection in the National Assembly and even in the governor’s forum.
He promised that the party will not wait for another National Chairman to come and commission the edifies but will invite him again to come back with the same delegation to confirm that truly, God is in Akwa Ibom State, and God has uncommonly transform their lives.

Earlier in his welcome address, the state chairman of PDP in Akwa Ibom state, Obong Paul Ekpo said that Akwa Ibom state government is consistently unleashing transformational changes on the people of the state, and leaving legacies for present and future generations.

He said that the governor has uncommonly transformed the party in Akwa Ibom state which all the party officers at the state, local government, and ward level are very proud of, adding that government have released funds for branding of all the chapter and ward offices of the party in preparation for the 2015 general election including purchasing of 31 branded buses for all chapters of the party in the state.
