Group endorses Nsima Ekere ahead 2015 guber election

A group known as the Akwa Ibom Consolidation Project has promoted the endorsement of a Unity Agenda christened “Akwa Ibom We Are One, Together We Prosper”. The Unity Policy is in line with the character and ethics prescribed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) constitution which stipulates in part thus: The party, while striving for maximum unity of purpose, shall respect the linguistic, cultural and religious diversity of its members.

‘AKWA IBOM WE ARE ONE, TOGETHER WE PROSPER’ is a political message with growing momentum across the state; it reinforces the need to support efforts to prevent marginalization and discrimination among societies of the State. It emphasizes that it cannot do it alone, but through the collaboration of all citizens.

The message is a reminder to citizens of the need to recognize the existence of Unity in Diversity among races, religion and gender. It synergises the populace especially the political class to braze up on power and be placed in influential positions in all sections of the State, and to regain the good feelings of political importance.

In a statement from the youths read thus: “We the youths of Akwa Ibom State under the aegis of Peoples Democratic Party National Youth Vanguard are happy with his Excellency, Obong Nsima Ekere for offering himself as a unifying force and accepting the responsibility of reuniting Akwa Ibom under the “One Umbrella” that shields every section of the State from fear of unfair treatment, unequal representation, gender inequality and imbalance development.

Obong Nsima Ekere’s unity platform describes what needs to be in place to prevent violence and ensure the thriving of youths across the State as well as to delineate the support of the various economical sections to ensure the sustainability and of the uncommon transformation.

Having endorsed this “One Unity Policy”, we recommend it to the party (PDP) in the country and call on the political class, especially the delegates in the forthcoming governorship primary, to uphold the integrity Obong Nsima Ekere has offered to primate good governance to the people; promote
sustainable development through provision of sound education, basic health care, food security, rapid industrial growth, adequate housing, full employment and the improvement of infrastructure and basic services in Akwa Ibom State.
