Prison inmates, Motherless Babies pray for Enoidem

Inmates of the special Children’s home and  those of the federal prison, Ikot Ekpene last week were full of praises to God and had also prayed that the blessings of the creator should not depart from Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, the Commissioner Ministry of Special Duties in the state.

The inmates were relishing the hand of fellowship that was extended to them in continuation of the celebration of the 50th birthday of the special Duties commissioner as well as to mark the 27th birthday celebration of the creation of the state. Mr Jerry Umoette the National coordinator of Godswill Support Group had led other members of the body and friends as well as well wishers of the down trodden to the prisons and the special Children homes were he onbehalf of Barr Emmanuel Enoidem donated food items, toiletries as well as other valuables worth thousands of naira to the inmates.


At Ikot Ekpene special Children homes, the group was received by the matron of the home Mrs. Christiana Udoh who hinted that the items donated to them came at a very timely period were they were running out of foodstuffs. Mrs Udoh called on the children to pray and ask for God’s blessings on Barr Enoidem whom she described as a leader with the fear of God. She maintained that with the items from the commissioner, there has been a new lease of life in the home even as she called on other members of the public to emulate the kind gestures of Enoidem. She also prayed God to bless the Governor Chief Godswill Akpabio and also the Government of Akwa Ibom state which he further described as compassionate.

At the federal Prisons in Ikot Ekpene, the team was received by the Deputy Comptroller of Prisons, Mr. Mbochi Collinus. Mr Collinus appreciated the team for the visit and assured them that the items brought will be utilized effectively for the benefits of the inmates. He called on the people to join hands in praying God’s blessings for the donor Barr Emmanuel Enoidem. He assured that they will continue to ask God to fill the pockets of the Special Duties commissioner and prosper him in all his endeavours.

Speaking inmates at the two locations expressed delight at the gift items and prayed God to bless Barr Enoidem. Speaking Onbehalf of the Hon Commissioner for Special Duties, Jerry Umoette charged the people to be of good cheer as according to him, no condition is permanent. He informed them that the Government is interested in them and will ensure that they have the best of life and protection. 

He called on the inmates to continue believing in God as according to him, God is the ultimate and Supreme Being in all the endeavours of man. He charged them not to see their position today as being of disadvantage to them but rather they should within their capacities seek for all things good as God has a destiny for all of them. Jerry Umoette called on them to belief firmly in God and always remember to pray for the Government and people of Akwa Ibom state.
