Senator John Udoedehe of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Akwa Ibom State has on Monday picked the party’s nomination form with a pledge of addressing unemployment in the state if elected the governor come 2015.

Udoedehe, who also picked the expression of interest form at the APC state secretariat, Atiku Abubakar in Uyo, said he will also focus on transformation of the rural areas, industrialization and human empowerment.

The Governorship aspirant maintained that Akwa Ibom state has a problem of good and effective leadership and that the people are looking towards to All Progressive Congress (APC) to deliver them from poverty as well as unemployment that has been facing the state.


Senator Udoedehe who is the leading Governorship aspirant in the party, said “ Akwa Ibom State received so much allocations every month from Federal Government, not to talk of about internal generated revenue and yet our people are living in poverty”.

The uyo-born politician further noted that Akwa Ibom need a man of his type to deliver them which he had accepted with love to carry the responsibility to govern Akwa Ibom State come 2015. “Our support based is voluntarily, Akwa Ibom people are living in pains and they need a man like me to deliver them and with love, I have accepted the responsibility”.

He called on the party faithfuls to support his aspiration for him to emerge the next governor come general election even as he said that the party will continue to wax stronger in the state.

Presenting the nomination and expression of interest forms to aspirant, the APC National Vice Chairman, South- South zone, Prince Hilliard Eta expressed happiness to see the likes of Udoedehe joining the Governorship race and said he is convinced that APC will take over the state come 2015. 

Prince Eta while describing Udoedehe as a man that will come out victorious in the election, noted that APC is working towards taking over the seat of Government in Akwa Ibom State. He said the party is not imposing any aspirant on Akwa Ibom people, rather the party will always support a popular aspirant like Udoedehe to emerge the governor of the state come 2015.
