Akpabio is a visionary leader, says Akan Okon
The state Commissioner for Finance ,Mr.Akan Okon has attributed the uncommon transformation story of Akwa  Ibom state  to the visionary and purposeful leadership which Governor Akpabio-led administration has institutionalIzed in the last seven years.

The Commissioner who  was speaking in Uyo shortly after he was conferred  with honorary Fellow by the Chartered Institute of Leadership of Nigeria(CILN), stressed the importance of good leadership which he described as a veritable ingredient to the growth and stability of any society.



Mr. Okon noted with pride that the present leadership in the State has become a model of good governance in Nigeria  as Akwa Ibom people  have been given a new lease of life and  pride of place in the socio-economic and political sphere both within and outside the country.

He  acknowledged that leadership is a process which requires continuous tutelage and commended members of the CILN for their initiative of coming together as a body to engineer the mentorship and projection of outstanding leadership , urging them to sustain the tempo by remaining advocates of good leadership in Nigeria.

The Finance Boss who said he was overwhelmed by the recognition of his modest achievements,    pledged his readiness to support and  work for the advancement of a greater association, and dedicated the fellowship award to God Almighty and to Governor Godswill Akpabio.

Earlier, the National President of the body, Prince Aniebiet Udofia stated that the Chartered Institute of Leadership was established to serve as a global leadership management, Training , and regulatory institution  ,made up of active and committed members who come together to  seek the well being of humanity , guided by the vision for total transformation.

Mr. Udofia pointed out that the nomination of Mr. Akan Okon as their fellow was informed by his impressive leadership profile in public service as well as the passionate manner he has spearheaded reforms in the financial sector, and applauded his proficiency  in his chosen profession.

On his part, the Permanent Secretary, Elder Offiong Udoffe who described Mr. Akan Okon as a gold fish with no hiding place, said the award on him bears credence to the fact that his good works have not gone unnoticed, adding that it would further inspire  him to work harder and thanked  the association for the noble gesture.
