“Akpabio’s administration has been good to public servants” – Gov’s wife
Wife of the governor of Akwa  Ibom State, Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, has said that the Godswill Akpabio administration has been very responsive to the plight of workers in the state. She made the observation last Sunday during the 2015 Public Service week hosted by Insight Bible church, Nsikak Eduok Avenue, Uyo. 

The governor’s wife urged the workers to reciprocate the support of the current administration to them by voting for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming elections. 

The Head of the Civil Service, Mrs. Cecelia Udoessien, thanked the governor for being very supportive of the workers in the state over the years, pointing that the week was set aside to reward outstanding workers who have contributed immensely to the service. 
She also thanked God for the grace he had bestowed on her, noting that this year’s celebration was her last outing as the head of service in Akwa Ibom state. She appreciated the governor for giving her the opportunity to serve while calling on all workers not to relent in their service to government.

In a related development, eligible voters in the state have been urged to vote massively for the re-election of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as President and Mr. Udom Emmanuel as governor of Akwa Ibom State in the forth-coming general election. Wife of Governor, Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio made the call during a service to mark the 2015 Laity Week of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, West Itam, Itu. Mrs. Akpabio thanked God for the successes recorded by the PDP led Government at the federal and the state level respectively saying that the President has performed creditably well and deserves a second term in office. 

At the state level, Mrs. Akpabio also said the Governor is a pacesetter in terms of performance, stressing that for the sake of justice and equity in the state, PDP had zoned the governorship seat to Eket senatorial district. She called on all to vote for Mr. Udom Emmanuel for sustainability of the uncommon transformation as well as vote President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term in office. She supported the church project with the sum of One million naira in addition to a donation of twenty five wrappers and ten thousand naira each to twenty five widows in the church. 

Earlier in his address, the Parish priest, Very Rv. Father Patrick Udotai noted that Catholic Church remains non-partisan but that opportunity were given to all parties to express themselves to the electorate. He said that as citizens, it was their civic duty to vote and decide who governs them in the next four years. Fr. Udotai thanked the governor’s wife for the visit and prayed God to sustain her. Special prayers were offered for the country, the President and the Governor as well as the peaceful conduct of the general elections.

At Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel, the wife of Governor Mrs. Akpabio called for peace among politicians and their followers in the country. She said the PDP as a party has been a vehicle through which Nigerians have enjoyed dividends of democracy and as such should be voted in the next elections. 

She added that the administration of Godswill Akpabio has laid the basic foundation for the state to thrive with industries saying that without the foundation such as good road network and security no investor can come into the state. Mrs. Akapbio also donated the sum of one million naira to the widows project of the church.

On Her Excellency’s entourage were; wife of the PDP standard bearer for the governorship election, Mrs. Martha Emmanuel, Hon. Commissioner for women affairs, Dr. Glory Edet, wife of Hon. Commissioner for environment, Mrs. Inem Uwah, chairman state technical Education board, Barr. Comfort Etuk, chairman state Secondary Education board, Prof. Maria Ikrok, female LG chairmen as well as women leaders and Women Ambassadors.
