Governor Udom Emmanuel heads FGPC, appoints SSG, other key aides
The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel in his determined effort to carry out his agenda and to reposition the machinery of government has announced the appointment of aides to fill key positions in his administration.

 The Executive Governor shall henceforth become the Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee (FGPC). The Chief of Staff to the immediate past Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, Sir Etekamba Umoren has been appointed the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).  A retired Permanent Secretary, Government House, Uyo, a graduate of University of Benin and a Knight of John Wesley, Umoren is a seasoned technocrat who has attended different courses overseas.   
Pastor Bassey Umoh, was appointed Permanent Secretary, Governor’s Office. Until his appointment, he was Auditor-General of Local Government.  
 
Mr. Ekerete Udoh, the immediate past Director of Media and Publicity for the Udom/Moses Campaign Organization, 2015, was appointed Senior Special Assistant (Media) and Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State. Udoh who is a holder of B.A (Political Science and Journalism), Queens College, City University of New York and M.A (Political Science) Special Concentrations in International Relations and Comparative Politics, Brooklyn College, City University of New York. A former columnist with Sunday Concord, Thisday, Vanguard, Editor of Hints magazine and Publisher of The Diasporan Star, New York; Udoh has spent over 28 years in journalism profession. 
 
Mr. Aniekpeno Mkpanang, Permanent Secretary (Protocol) in the immediate past government, is the new Permanent Secretary, Special Services Department, (SSD). Mr. Edmond Uffang was appointed Protocol Chief. A graduate of Yaba College of Technology, Uffang is a successful businessman and protocol consultant. Pastor Daniel Akwatang was appointed the Special Assistant to the Executive Governor on Religious Affairs.  

The Executive Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel wishes the newly appointed aides the very best in the discharge of their responsibilities.
