BY EMMANUEL AKPAN

A former Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP) governorship aspirant and Senior pastor, House of Gold Ministries International, Uyo, Apostle (Dr) Nya Ebito has finally spoken after he lost out in the December, 2014 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries in Akwa Ibom State.

Nya Ebito said himself and other top-notch governorship aspirants were schemed out of the PDP primaries in other to favour Mr. Udom Emmanuel as the party’s flag bearer who was later elected as the Governor.
The man of God while marking his welcome address at a thanksgiving service in honour of the Deputy Chief Whip and member representing Onna State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State of Assembly, Hon. (Otuekong) Nse Essien last Sunday at his church, House of Gold Ministries International, Uyo, where the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel was in attendance amongst other dignitaries, said after he had invested all his monies and resources in the build up of the PDP primaries, the party had to paid him back in a wrongful manner by scheming him out of the governorship nomination exercise without any negotiation or compensation.

Apostle Ebito further disclosed that after the PDP primaries, he was financially broke and worst-off after he had put in all his monies in the election with the hope that he will emerge victorious at the end of the day. He said that if not for the invention of Hon. Nse Essien, a strong member of his church, who came to his rescue, his situation would have been worsen as things were going tough with him.

In his words, “His Excellency, I hope that you have not forgotten that I contested the PDP governorship primaries with you and we were schemed out in your favour. I came out so worst-off financially, after the primaries, I could not pay the school fees of my children, if not Hon. Nse Essien that came to my rescue.”

He however noted that although he was schemed out of the nomination, he is still a member of the PDP and all his supporters are still intact in the party, saying that after the nomination, he worked for the success of Udom Emmanuel at the last general election. “After the primaries, myself and my supporters voted for the PDP and Udom Emmanuel.” He said

Governor Udom Emmanuel, while responding during his speech, thanked Apostle Nya Ebito for his steadfastness in the party and for not joining the G22 to fight him, adding that no aspirant was schemed out of the contest, but his emergence was the will of God.

“Apostle let me also tell you something; you said you were schemed out, but I know you we were not schemed out, God drew you back to your call which is the pulpit, because the anointing you have on the pulpit is not the same in the hilltop mansion. Because God knows that what is in you is greater, so God decided to keep you in the pulpit.” Udom stated.

The Governor maintained that nobody schemed any aspirant out of the race, but that everything worked out for good, adding that on the day of the primaries, the people of Akwa Ibom wanted him which was the reason he scored 97% of all the votes casted at the Ibom International stadium, venue for the primaries.

Udom further stated, “Apostle, you also said that when you finished, your money got finished, your money cannot finish because you work in the divine yard of God, God will multiple over and over again.”

The Governor used the opportunity to advise politicians to always look for a way of making politicking cheaper by unity and always working towards supporting consensus candidates in every election, saying politics would became sweeter and interesting if the people learn how to allow people to sometimes go unopposed even as he said it will help Akwa Ibom political system to grow.
