Amalgamated Okobo Youth Leaders Council inaugurated

Okobo youths have been described as a formidable force to the development of the area, hence, there is need for them to amalgamate and integrate themselves with the aim to support governor Udom Emmanuel inorder to attract dividence of democracy to their area as well as key into the “dakada” philosophy of governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.

This was the message of Hon Chris Okon who was the chairman on the occasion of the amalgamated youth leaders programme which took place at Okopedi Okobo last weekend.

He particularly commended the organizer of the rally, ULAP Joseph Okon on his foresight in giving the youths of the area a sense of direction. 


Okon himself the immediate past state executive office of PDP charged the youth groups to come together and registered with the bureau of cooperative matters just for them to be able to rise to their greatness in view of the dakada philosophy of the governor. 

The occasion chairman equally kicked against every form of intimidation and threat which was targeted at disrupting the peaceful atmosphere of the event by some self seeking politicians in the area, asserted also that the event should not be under estimated by anybody but prayed that any person who stand against the wishes of Okobo is bound to perish, however, thanked the youth groups who turn up in their numbers to great the occasion even as he wishes them well in their feature endeavours.

On his part the secretary of Okobo LG council who represented the Local Government chairman, Ita Benjamin said the event was in accordance with the law that is why he represented the council, however, charged the inaugurated Exco of the group to rule with the fear of God and bring their wealth of experience to bear by ensuring that all the group benefit from their tenure. 

Speaker on behalf of the women, the wife of the former transition chairman, Mrs. Ini Atta view the incoming exco of the body as capable hands who will work for the betterment of the group.

The international president of ESUNLAP Oro, ULAP Joseph Okon said nobody is Alpha and Omega, “I believed in making happiness in life and less difficult to another person even as I know there is no limitation in life”. He stated. 

He charged the constituted Exco to bring innovative ideas that will turn around the fortune of Okobo youths in a bid to also key-in the dakada philosophy of the governor. 

The youth president who is also the SSA to the governor thanked governor Udom Emmanuel for his youth friendly disposition and promised to  team-up Oro youths to always  ensure his ambition even beyond 2019.

In his acceptance speech on behalf of the inaugurated exco, the president amalgamated Okobo youth leaders council, ULAP Iniobong Essung thanked the people for the confidence reposed them but instead will work as a united entity to bring their well of experience to bear. He also thanked the governor for appointing one of their own ULAP Joseph Okon as one of his aide even as he promised to make Okobo youths proud. 

Meanwhile those sworn-in were ULAP Iniobong Essung President, Victor Umoh-v-president, Kufre Ankpayanha-sect, Samuel Emoh, Asst Sect, Ibanga Edet Akwa Financial Sect, Patrick Ikwo-Treasurer and Kokoete Ekpeyong, Dirt of sport.  Others were Ime Ante Dirt of welfare, Ime Anso dirt of protocol, Paul Cyril, Dirt of public relations, while ULAP Bassey Bassey and Jonah Ibok serves as adviser I and II respectively. Gideon Bassey was sworn-in as ex-officio I, while Iniobong Nduonyi, Joseph Akaniyi and Sunday Onweipei will serve as Ex-officio members equally.
