Gunmen kidnap expatriate in Eket

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers has kidnapped an expatriate working

for Nigerpet construction firm handling government projects around

Atabong in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, THE INK can report.

Eye witnesses account informed that the gunmen kidnapped the

expatriate in the evening of last Wednesday.

THE INK gathered that security men from different units have swung into actions

in search of the missing expatriate.

Our Correspondent gathered that there’s been heavy presence of

vigilant security men mounting road blocks from Atabong bridge all the

way down to Strabag junction in OKON Eket to carry out a stop and

search operation.

Vehicular movements in and out of Eket town have been at a snail speed

in the last few days as vehicles plying the route were thoroughly

searched by heavily armed security men.

Our Correspondent checks reveal that there’s been an upsurge of

criminalities in Eket connected with the present harsh economic

conditions in the country.
