Ibiono Ibom extols Iniobong Essien  *Commends Gov. Emmanuel over reappointment

The entire people of Ibiono Ibom Local Government  Area last Thursday, gathered in their large numbers to express delight over the reappointment of their son, Dr. Iniobong Essien, into the State Executive Council as Commissioner in charge of Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources by Governor Udom Emmanuel, describing his reappointment as a “reward for hard work, selfless service and commitment”. 

Speaking at the grand reception in honour of Dr. Essien at Ibiono Ibom Council Secretariat, Oko Ita, the member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency, Barr. Ime Okon described Dr. Essien as a bridge builder and an asset to Ibiono Ibom whose appointment into the state Exco came at the right time when the people needed a team player. The lawmaker said Dr. Essien’s reappointment is merited, going by the many achievements he recorded in the Ministry of Environment, in the immediate past State Executive Council. 


The former chairman of old Itu LGA, Hon. Nicholas Andy described the appointment of Commissioner Iniobong Essien as the “handmade of God”, noting that he is a core grassroots politician who has carried the people of Ibiono Ibom along in the scheme of things in the state. 

The State Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, Barr Ini Ememobong further thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for finding their son fit to serve in his cabinet for the second time and said the people of Ibiono Ibom will continually support his administration.

Also speaking, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ibiono Ibom, Pastor Samuel Eka congratulated Dr. Iniobong Essien over his reappointment and commended Governor Emmanuel for rewarding hard work and diligence.

Responding, the newly sworn in Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources, Dr. Iniobong Essien thanked God for sustenance and Governor Udom Emmanuel for reappointing him into the state Exco to contribute his quota to the development of Akwa Ibom State.

Dr. Essien further thanked the people of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area for always standing by him, right from his entry into politics in the state and said he will continue to attract much development to the area. He urged the people to eschew violence and not relent efforts in their support to the present administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel to succeed beyond 2019.

The well graced reception was attended by elder statesmen of Ibiono Ibom extraction, men, women, youths and uniformed organisations.
