Info boss charges society of Nigerian artists on skills
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh has charged the Society of Nigerian Artists, Akwa Ibom State Chapter to utilize the adept potentials of its members for national development, especially in this period of economic recession.

Mr. Udoh who gave the charge when members of the organization visited him in his office recently, said effective exposition of such skills will in no small measure contribute to the development and growth of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.

The Information boss urged the group to reorient students and parents on the importance of studying arts, noting that visual artists are endowed with potentials to add value to the society.


Urging members of the group to work as a team in order to project and reposition visual arts, adding that teamwork will help them gain recognition in their masterpieces and endorsement from corporate organization, the assured them of government support. 

Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Society of Nigerian Artists, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Mrs. Victoria Utuk, congratulated the Commissioner on his appointment and pledged their support for the Udom Emmanuel-led administration.

While intimating the Information Boss on the activities of the organization, which she said included; organizing arts and crafts exhibition aimed at promoting creative ingenuities of Akwa Ibom Artists, Mrs. Utuk hinted that Akwa Ibom State will host its 1st Summit of Visual Arts and Entreprenuership to attract economic and social activities in the state, she added that an exhibition will be held in honour of the foremost female Professor of Visual Arts in Nigeria, late Prof. Mrs. Stella Idiong.

The National Secretary of the Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA), Sculptor Archibong Bassey in his remarks, commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for finding Mr. Charles Udoh, an experienced communication and branding expert fit for the position of Commissioner for Information and Strategy.

 He pledged the support of the Society of Nigerian Artists to the commissioner and indeed the state government and appealed for assistance for hosting of arts exhibition and empowerment of artists in the State.

Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of certificate of membership to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh.
