Youths of Ini Local Government Area have joined the ranks of Akwa Ibomites who are extolling the leadership qualities of Mr. Udom Emmanuel the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State describing him as a man who has so far lived up to the mantle of divine mandate that was entrusted into his hands.

Speaking under the auspices of Ini Youth Vanguard, the group who spoke through their Chairman Iboro Nnah and Secretary Innocent Udom respectively said Governor Emmanuel’s youth inclusiveness in governance is an indication of the fact that the State Chief Executive is a man of character. They added also that the state Governor is living up to his campaign promises of industrialization of the state acknowledging that even with the lean resources occasioned by recession, that the Governor has been superlative in his leadership and industrialization drive in the state.

The leadership of Ini Youth vanguard stated specifically that the construction of Ikpe – Iko Nkon – Arochukwu road, awarding of contract for the construction of Odoro Ikpe – Mbiabet road, as well as the cassava processing mill at Anananmong in Itu Mbouso in Ini Local Government Area are some of the indices of Development Governor Emmanuel has brought to Ini Local Government and expressed their desire to support the State Chief Executive to the fullest.


The body further appreciated the State Chief Executive for reappointing Dr. (Mrs.) Glory Edet into the state Executive Council and ensuring her emergence as the Dean of Commissioners. They said, Dr. Glory Edet has really impacted on the people of Ini Local Government Area.

While furthering more kind words for Dr. Glory Edet, they listed her achievements to include construction of cenotaph in the Local Government Area, building of classroom blocks in Ekoi Community Secondary School, empowering wives of late gallant soldiers/legionaires in Ini as well as empowering of over one hundred Youths across the ten wards of the Local Government Area. 

Glory Edet, Ini Youth Vanguard maintained had also empowered over seventy youths of Ikpe Ward two with fifty thousand Naira financial assistance each to enable them meet up with some urgent and pressing needs. The women affairs Commissioner is also praised by her people for her intervention in the Educational sector. They acknowledged that the Dean, College of Commissioners in Akwa Ibom State have paid and  is still paying school fees for both under and post graduates students of the Local Government Area even as they added that Glory Edet’s milk of kindness has also spilled on the traditional institutions in Ini. 

Ini Youth vanguard which serves as a bridge between Youths and Political Leaders of the area also had kind words for the member representing them in the 6th Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Mr. Emmanuel Ekpenyong. The body described the lawmaker as a legislator of the finest mien and reiterated their determination to ensure that Ini people in places of authority who have done the Local Government proud are appreciated.

The group while offering insights into the representation of Emmanuel Ekpenyong scored the lawmaker high in what they described as a legislator’s effective legislating.

They said, “The press, let use link you up with why we in Ini Youth vanguard are pleased with our House member Emmanuel Ekpenyong. In October 2015, as member of the House Committee on Works/Transport, Emmanuel Ekpenyong spearheaded the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Works and Transport committee’s visit to Ini for the on the spot assessment of the state of roads in the constituency and in May 2016, he moved a motion calling for swift state government intervention in the Nna – Enin gully erosion/landslide menace”.

Ini Youths also praised Emmanuel Ekpenyong on his perimeter fencing of primary school, Mbiabong Ikot Udofia, Electrification of Akpayak Ikpe in Ward 1 (Ikpe clan), construction of shops in UruaOffiong Aran, which is in ward 8, sponsoring the Annual Ini Dakkada football tournament, visit/alleviation of burden of bereaved family of election violence victims.  

They also commended the Chief Whip of the 6th Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly on his efforts in peace and reconciliation of Ini people and hailed his proactive nature in seeking Government relief/succor for crisis – riddled Nkari clan in ward 4.

The Youth body was very specific in stating that the Assembly man did not close his eyes to Agriculture. They stressed that their son who is the Chief whip of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has mobilized and assisted at least forty five Ini based farmers cooperative groups of over seven Hundred and fifty members to participate in the federal Government Agricultural Bank funded rice programme which according to them is a boast. They also hailed the legislator for initiating Agricultural training for about three Hundred Ini indigenes in various areas of Agro enterprise such as Oil palm, Cocoa, Rice, Vegetables productions, processing. 

Ini Youths added that the chief whip has also intervened in the area of fishery, Animal husbandry and other aspects of livestock management. They celebrated Emman Ekpenyong on his March 22, 2017 constituency briefing which the group noted as superb.

Ini Youth vanguard however commended the partnership between the House Member Emmanuel Ekpenyong and Commissioner Glory Edet saying that the duo has given political direction in Ini Local Government Area. They also pledged total allegiance and promised to always support the duo to help achieve lasting peace in Ini Local Government Area.
